1 Star BUGSY & PROBLEMATIC
I’m done with Garmin!

From banner ads popping up on my GPS “because I get free traffic” (which I was never told at time of purchased) to Bluetooth connection that keeps dropping my Blackberry, to taking upwards of 5 minutes to search for a simple business name,,, Garmin has made too many dumb errors in my book.

This is my 3rd Garmin and I always had hoped that they’ll work out the bugs. But they’re simply too busy to realize their substandard products.

I just ordered a Magellon and will be ordering a TomTom to see how these 2 compare to Garmin.

I was told that if I want to stop the small banners, I would have to buy a traffic subscription of $49.95 a year.

Why didn’t they disclose that in the description field when I purchased it?

FREE LIFETIME TRAFFIC is all they said. What a joke. I get better traffic from Google Traffic on my Blackberry and it is FREE!

The small ads REALLY bugs me. It really does.

I will also be trying Google’s new Android phone from Verizon? or Sprint? Not sure which one, But its totally free and with their live traffic updates as well as actual photos of buildings, as well as live instant local search of businesses in your specific Geo Location. This is amazing.

Its a shame that GPS companies who’ve been doing this for years and making millions of dollars can’t even come close to a relatively new player in the GPS business (Google) who is offering all this for the price of a phone and phone service!

I will never buy another Garmin. They had 3 chances and failed me thrice.

5 Stars great device
The Garmin 265W is great. It finds your location pretty quickly…usually in less than 20-30 seconds. The traffic feature is kind of weird. Maybe I just haven’t figured it out yet…but once it finds the “traffic jam” it doesn’t route you around it. I mean what is the purpose in knowing it’s there if it isn’t going to route you around the jam? I don’t know…I’m probably doing something wrong. The maps are really good. The upgrade map download took a while…be ready to wait. But, I guess it was worth it, it was free and people usually have to pay like $70 or something like that. Overall…I am very happy. I looked at A LOT of different GPS’s and even purchased a tomtom and a different garmin before deciding on this one and…hands down…This is the best one. Welp…hope this helps.

4 Stars Cross Country Trip
Took it on a cross country driving trip and it performed well. Purchased just before the trip so had no chance to register the device for traffic (SN input required). Screen was fine, but any complicated commands required a stop. Would love voice recognition. Limited bluetooth was a real bummer. Used it to find the coffee stops, nightly stops etc and it did great, though not complete. Loved the speed indicator, time to go display. Also liked the trip record. Have used a cheaper Tom Tom One and would recommend this one over the Tom Tom.

5 Stars Great travel buddy
With it’s 4.3 inch wide screen the N
